Shajeda Ahmed has over 20 years in both public and private sectors, and prior to joining the Black Country ICB as Chief People Officer, was the Executive Director of People, OD & Inclusion for North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare.
Shajeda is nationally recognised for her leadership within the equality, diversity and inclusion agenda. She has won HPMA (Health Professional Management) Awards for her outcomes; and has created strong staff engagement strategies noted by NHS England as the best in the country. Shajeda is frequently invited to be a guest panellist on many leadership and professional forums; including most recently at Bravery in the Boardroom. Shajeda advocates having a diverse workforce, which leads to better decision making and increased innovation and thus enables all of us to improve the care that we provide. This has been informed by her belief that everyone should have the same opportunities and be treated fairly and equally to support a culture of inclusivity and wellness, recognising and accepting difference as a dynamic to be celebrated and a skill to be harnessed, something to be proud of.
